CORNWALL, Ontario – The annual Team Cornwall Mayor and Council Golf Fun Day will be teeing off at Summerheights Golf Links on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019.
With only a few spots remaining at time of writing, Peter Gault of Team Cornwall hopes to have another sellout year with 144 people taking to the golf course.
“We are excited for people to come out on Sept. 10 to celebrate the end of the summer with some time on the green,” he said.
Major sponsors of the event this year include Herb’s Towing, who will be sponsoring the Golf Flags at each hole, Canadian Tire will be sponsoring the balls, MNP will be sponsoring the Golf Cars, Nada Kovinich will be sponsoring the always popular basket of cheer, Chartwell will be sponsoring the lunch, and Seaway News is serving as a media sponsor.
Gault pointed out that the Eastern Ontario Economic Development Conference would open at the Nav Centre the following day and that the attendees have been invited to come down a day early to take part in the golf day.
“It is the end of the regular golf season. It is a nice day. It isn’t a competition, everyone is out to meet friends and have fun,” said Gault. “We like to show of the community and the people.”
Gault explained that the money raised at the event would be invested back into the community and go towards the bursaries that Team Cornwall gives out annually to graduating high school students.
