Smith Falls, Ontario – The Smiths Falls Bears clinched a decisive victory in the Borgat Cup CCHL Jr. A Playoffs, defeating the Cornwall Colts 6-1 on April 14 at the Smiths Falls Memorial Centre with 639 spectators in attendance. The matchup, initially set for April 12, was rescheduled due to weather.
Dominating from the start, the Bears scored four goals in the first period, setting a formidable lead. Brayden Bowen briefly rallied the Colts with a powerplay goal in the second period, but it was the sole highlight for the team. Smiths Falls added two more goals in the third period, cementing their win.
Colts’ goaltender Donald Hickey was pulled after conceding three goals on ten shots in the first, replaced by Xander Miceli, who faced 33 shots, saving 30. The victory concluded the series with the Bears winning it 4-1, moving them forward in the playoffs.
