CORNWALL, Ontario – Bob Hardy the Walker Runner is raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society of Cornwall and Area while training for his next marathon.
Hardy is regularly practicing 22 mile time trial runs, and is encouraging members of the public to join him, and donate to the Alzheimer’s Society while they get some physical activity.

Jennifer Weeks, the Communications and Campaign Coordinator for the Alzheimer Society of Cornwall and Area has been accompanying Hardy at his time trials to collect donations from the public and share information about Alzheimer’s.
“Walking is a preventative measure folks can take to delay the onset of Alzheimer’s,” said Weeks.
Hardy completed his first time trial of 2019 in four hours and 11 minutes, his goal for his second time trial was four hours and six minutes.
The Alzheimer’s Society will be holding a care conference at the Ramada Inn in Cornwall on March 28, and they will be holding a free training session for Dementia Friends on Feb. 25 at Boston Pizza.
