CORNWALL, Ontario – The Cornwall Nationals, Cornwall’s new FHL hockey team, have announced that they have added three more players to their roster, bringing their team total to seven.
In a press statement released on Wednesday, the team announced that General Manager Mitch Gagne had signed Joel Trottier, Tristen Elie and Jacob Dawson.
Two have ties to Alexandria.
Trottier is 39, an Alexandria native and was drafted by the Boston Bruins in 1997. Elie, is also an Alexandria native and at 20 years old has already had experience playing for the Cornwall Colts.
The third signee, Jacob Dawson, is 24-years-old and played AAA hockey in La Tuque, QC.
They will be joining forwards Jeff Legue, Lou Dickenson and defencemen Jason Lepine and Kris McCarthy.
Dickerson, McCarthy and Legue were the first players to be announced as a part of the team during the National’s first press conference on Saturday, Sept. 17.
At that press conference it was revealed that Rodney Rivette and Mitch Gagne were the sole owners of the FHL team and that they would be serving as Team President and General Manager respectively.
Tickets went on sale for the Cornwall Nationals on Monday.
Season tickets will be $290 for adults, $230 for seniors (60+) and students (14 to 18) and $115 for children under 12. Single game tickets will be $13, $10 and $5.
Their first home game will be on Oct. 30 versus Danville at 1 p.m.
