GUELPH, Ontario – Grade 12 CCVS student Rebecca Dobbs gave it her best shot at the Ontario Federation of School Athletics Association in Guelph and hit the mark.
Dobbs took first place in Women’s Shot Put and set a new OFSAA record, throwing the weight 9.03 meters, beating her second place competitor by nearly a full meter.
“It is a great accomplishment to be a top high school athlete in all of Ontario,” said John McAllister, Chair of the Upper Canada District School Board. “Our students have been training hard this school year and we are very proud of all who competed over the weekend.”
