Cornwall has the finest minor league baseball parks in Canada. The Royal Canadian Legion spent a great deal of money to build this beautiful park. Many service clubs donated money to clean up this area so the children and parents could enjoy it. Now we have the mayor’s office for the third time in 10 years wanting to put condos up in this park.
The people of Cornwall will lose the waterfront to a developer from outside the city. Why doesn’t this city look at putting the condos at the Domtar property? One simple reason, they would have to clean up the area.
What city council should do, is put a motion around the table and let the taxpayers know which councilors are going to support the project at Legion Park. When we have the next election, the people of Cornwall can decide who they want to remove from office.
