TORONTO — Stars of “Sons of Anarchy” are joining the Hobbits and the cast of Kevin Smith’s “Clerks” at this year’s edition of Fan Expo Canada.
The Toronto pop culture festival unleashed a list of familiar faces as it plots a return to a full-fledged in-person event from Aug. 25-28 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
Leading the group are Charlie Hunnam, Ryan Hurst, Theo Rossi, and Emilio Rivera, who were cast members of the popular motorcycle gang drama that aired on the FX channel.
Others set to appear include Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Billy Boyd, and Dominic Monaghan — the Hobbit characters in Peter Jackson’s Middle Earth movies.
Canadians William Shatner and Dave Foley of “The Kids in the Hall” will join the guests this year, many of whom were previously announced on social media in recent days.
Meanwhile, the leads of Smith’s pivotal 1994 independent film “Clerks” and its followup will reflect on the comedy’s place in cinematic history in preparation for a new sequel that’s set for release later this year.
Other attendees will include stars of “Cobra Kai,” LeVar Burton of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and Robert Englund who’s synonymous with his role as Freddy Krueger.
Last year, Fan Expo Canada moved ahead with a smaller-scale event branded as a “limited edition” which had fewer guests and took place in October with COVID-19 precautions.
