BRAMPTON, Ont. — Police west of Toronto say a Saturday morning collision involving 11 vehicles and at least 13 people has left one woman dead and sent multiple others to hospital.
Peel Regional Police say the collision occurred just after midnight and involved ten cars and a transport truck.
They say a woman was pronounced dead at the scene, adding between 13 and 15 people were caught up in the crash.
Investigators say two people were taken to a trauma centre and “multiple” others were sent to local hospitals, all with non-life-threatening injuries, but did not specify the total number of people injured.
Police could not confirm the cause of the incident.
They say the driver of the transport truck has been charged with one count of dangerous driving causing death and “multiple” counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
