WINDSOR, Ont. — Alex Christopoulos, Oliver Peer and Matthew Maggio each notched a goal and an assist as the Windsor Spitfires used an early lead to push them past the Ottawa 67’s 5-3 on Thursday.

Ethan Miedema and Jacob Maillet added the others for Windsor (16-6-3-1). Mathias Onuska made 32 saves.

Vinzenz Rohrer, Chris Barlas and Tyler Boucher provided the offence for Ottawa (21-5-0). Max Donoso stopped 20 shots.

The Spitfires went up 3-0 late in the opening period before the 67’s got on the board with 36 seconds left. 

After Ottawa made it a 4-2 contest early in the third, Christopoulos’ goal at 4:53 of the frame put the game out of reach.

PETERBOROUGH, ONT. — Reid Valade led the way with two goals as Kitchener held off a comeback effort from Peterborough to earn the win. The Rangers held a 4-0 lead before the Petes came roaring back.

ST. CATHARINES, ONT. — Francesco Arcuri scored what proved to be the winner as Kingston (13-12-1-1) defeated Niagara in a shootout. Ivan Zhigalov stopped all three shots in the shootout for the Frontenacs who let the IceDogs back in it after taking a 2-0 lead in regulation.
