HAMILTON — A 41-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder after police say a man in his 60s was found dead in a Hamilton home on Sunday.
Hamilton police say officers found the man at a residence on Catherine Street South and deemed the case a homicide.
They say the deceased’s identity has not been confirmed yet due to the level of decomposition.
Police say an autopsy will be performed in the coming days and additional steps will be taken to identify the man, a process that could take weeks.
Hamilton police spokeswoman Jackie Penman says the occupant of the apartment and the accused – identified as Jonathan Lewis – are related, but gave no further details.
Police say they are not seeking other suspects and believe this was an isolated incident.
