CORNWALL, ON, SEPTEMBER 1, 2022 – Nominations for 2022 The Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence and Citizen of the Year Awards are now open, with ten different categories available, including two new awards.
“On behalf of our incredible business community it is always exciting to launch a new round of Business Excellence Awards”, stated Chamber President Gina Scandrett. “Every year we look forward to discovering what our business community has achieved over the past 12 months – there is always something that surprises us!”
The 2022 Business Excellence Award categories include two new awards; ‘New Business of the Year’, for businesses that have been established within the past five years, and ‘Young Professional of the Year’, to celebrate a business owner or professional aged under 40 that has made a significant contribution in their role.
Accompanying these new awards are also the following returning award categories:
• Large Business of the Year
• Small to Medium Business of the Year
• Entrepreneur of the Year
• Tourism Excellence Award
• Environmental Impact Award
• Inclusion and Diversity Award
• Community Impact Award
• Lifetime Business Achievement Award
The award ceremony is scheduled for late February 2023, accompanied by the launch of the 2022 BEA+ magazine. This year also marks the 51st year the Citizen of the year has been awarded. The Citizen of the Year is selected by a group of notable Cornwall and Area individuals, including the 2021 Citizen of the Year recipient Lee Theodore.
The Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce asks the community to submit nominations for the awards by filling out an online form. Nominations for the various awards will be accepted until September 30th, 2022.
