UNITED COUNTIES of SD&G, Ontario – Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a severe wind warning for Cornwall and the United Counties of SD&G for Tuesday, April 3, 2018.
“Wind gusts to 90 km/h developing Wednesday,” the warning reads. “A cold front will move across the regions Wednesday. Strong westerly winds will develop in its wake with gusts to 90 km/h expected at times. The strong winds will reach areas near eastern Lake Ontario Wednesday morning and the Ottawa and Cornwall areas in the early afternoon.”
Environment and Climate Change Canada goes on to warn that the severe wind could cause some power outages in the area.
This warning is on top of a Special Weather Statement that Environment and Climate Change Canada released earlier Tuesday in regards to heavy rainfall.
The region is expected to see 20-40mm of rain Tuesday night.
