The Winchester District Memorial Hospital (WDMH) Auxiliary’s mission is to assist WDMH by offering time, talent and funds to meet the hospital’s commitment of compassionate excellence for the patients and families from our surrounding communities. The WDMH Auxiliary also supports the next generation of volunteers.
Recently, the Auxiliary presented $750 education bursaries to two students graduating from local high schools – Eshal Ali and Fiona Tuck.

“We are honoured to attend the graduations and present the bursaries on behalf of the WDMH Auxiliary,” noted Elinor Jordan, long-time volunteer and Co-Chair of the WDMH Auxiliary. “These young women are inspiring and very deserving of our support.”

Eshal Ali is a graduate of Seaway District High School. She is attending Queen’s University in the fall in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program. Eshal was both a high school coop student and volunteer at WDMH in 2022, completing 189 coop hours and 45 volunteer hours.

Fiona Tuck is a graduate of École secondaire catholique Embrun. She is attending St. Lawrence College in the fall in the Registered Practical Nursing program. Fiona has volunteered at a retirement home.

Congratulations Eshal and Fiona!
