CORNWALL, Ontario – The Cornwall Community Police Service (CCPS) had been asking for the public’s assistance in locating Jason Copp, born May 17, 1995.
In the early morning hours of Oct. 4, 2017 Copp was found to be in possession of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was blocked by a cruiser which was then rammed by the stolen vehicle. Copp who is of no fixed address fled the scene on foot. The CCPS considered Copp to be unpredictable and desperate and believed he was looking to find his way out of the city.
At 7:18 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017 the CCPS’ Twitter account tweeted that they had captured Copp.
“Officers acted on information this evening and safely captured Jason Copp without incident,” the tweet reads.
In a second statement on Facebook, the CCPS stated that Copp is now facing several charges.
