(The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe is proud to provide employment opportunities for high school and college students through the Department of Education’s Summer Youth and Career Internship Employment Program. To help report on this initiative, we are proud to share the following summer student spotlight, which reports on internships in areas specific to the student’s chosen career path.)
AKWESASNE – Cash Feeley (he/him), age 21, attends Utica University as an accounting major. His current goals include working hard for his degree and successfully attaining a job in his field of study.
In the past, he has helped coach youth basketball during the school year, as well as volunteered to work multiple craft fairs at one of the Utica senior centers. He enjoys fishing and sports such as football. Cash also likes to create and try different random combinations of foods to “expand his palette.”
Cash is working the summer in the Finance department. While there, he has learned how to use the MIP fund accounting software, worked in procurement doing purchase orders, and mastered budgets and credit card checks.
