CORNWALL, Ontario – People from all over Ontario and New York ran to end Multiple Sclerosis at the St. Lawrence College this Saturday, April 28, 2018.

The fundraiser reached over $30,000 in donations that will go to finding a way to prevent, treat and heal symptoms of the disease that affects 1 in 340 people in Canada.

This is why racers gathered this weekend, to run in either a 5 km, 10 km, half marathon and a full marathon race which is a qualifier for the Boston marathon.

It also included a 1 km race for kids and a 5 km walk.

Saturday marked the 17th annual race with over 700 runners registered.

“The weather was absolutely terrible this morning at Crysler park where we started the marathon, but everybody has seemed to gutted through it and was smiling the whole way,” said Phil Barnes, the race director and running enthusiast.
