Off duty OPP officer charged with Domestic Assault

SMITH FALLS, Ontario – On Dec. 20, 2017 at approximately 9:07 p.m., members of the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment responded to a domestic incident involving an off duty officer.

The Provincial Constable, a 17-year member, was charged with one count of Domestic Assault contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada Section 266. 

The officer has been put on administrative duties and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Jan. 9, 2018.
