CORNWALL, Ontario – A new CAO has been hired in South Glengarry.
The township east of Cornwall announced Tuesday Bryan Brown assumed his new role Monday.
The Township of South Glengarry is pleased to announce the appointment
Brown is an experienced municipal manager, with more than 30 years of experience in both public administration and economic development. From 2007 to 2011 he held the position of CAO for the Municipality of Machin and most recently the position of CAO for the Township of Madawaska Valley, near Barry’s Bay, from 2012 to 2013.
“We are confident that his administrative experience and proven leadership will be a great asset to our municipality,” said Mayor Ian McLeod. “I would also like to thank our Clerk, Marilyn Lebrun, who stepped up as interim CAO during this transition period, as well as staff for their continued support.
Brown said he is looking forward to his new role in South Glengarry.
“I’ve always been drawn to the deep and charming cultural roots of this region,” he said. “I strongly believe that my skill set will be beneficial to this community.”
Brown was hired after former CAO Derek Brandt was fired by the township earlier this year.
