CORNWALL, Ontario – The third annual Au Vieux Duluth Fundraiser Dinner started at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9 at the Au Vieux Duluth in Cornwall.

Guests of Au Vieux Duluth could order the chicken brochette, pork souvlaki, butterfly shrimp or from the kid’s menu in exchange for a donation of their choice.

“We support many fundraisers every year,” said Alex Paradis, owner of Au Vieux Duluth Cornwall. “We want to be involved in the community and give back and I believe that this is a good cause.”

All money donated will go to support the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) of Champlain East’s Talk About Mental Illness (TAMI) program.

The TAMI program has been running for 18 years and is aimed at school children. The program is run in schools at no cost to the schools.

Last year, the fundraiser brought in $38, 000 gross, and $28, 000 gross in its first year.

Those coming into Au Vieux Duluth on Wednesday could also support the CMHA by bidding on items in their large silent auction.

This year is the CMHA’s 100th anniversary and they will be having a celebration in Cornwall at their office at 343 Pitt St. on Friday, May 11 at 1:30 p.m.
