UNITED COUNTIES of SD&G, Ontario – The Hydro One power outage map is showing that over 5,000 residents in parts of South Stormont and South Glengarry are currently without power.
The map currently shows that Ingleside, Lunenburg, Newington, St. Andrews, Long Sault, Apple Hill and Martintown are among the communities without power.
Hydro One currently is estimating that power will be restored to these areas by 5:30 p.m. this afternoon.
Hydro One states that the cause of the outages is still being determined, but there have been high winds up-to 90 km/h throughout the day.
Environment Canada continues to have a Severe Wind Warning in effect for Cornwall and SD&G.
Tagwi Secondary School issued a statement that they too were without power, but thanks to back-up generators that classes were continuing.
