ONTARIO — Environment Canada issued a heat warning on Sunday, Aug. 5 at 10:30 a.m. for the following areas:
Cornwall – Lancaster
Maxville – Alexandria
Morrisburg – Long Sault
Winchester – Newington
Humidex values are expected to reach 40 Celsius and continue through Monday during the daytime. Overnight minimum temperatures will only fall to near 20 degrees.
A cold front is expected to move through the area on Tuesday, bringing an end to this heat event.

Heat alerts are issued when high humidity or temperature conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illness, such as heat stroke and heat exhaustion.
