NORTH STORMONT, Ontario – On Jan. 23, 2018 Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to the scene of a two vehicle fatal collision on County Road 43, North Stormont Township.
Investigation has indicated that at approximately 10:12pm, a passenger vehicle was travelling westbound on County Road 43 North Stormont Township, when for reasons under investigation, the westbound passenger vehicle entered into the eastbound lane and struck an eastbound passenger vehicle.
The adult male driver (69) of Gatineau, Quebec (lone occupant) of the westbound passenger vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The adult female driver (34) of Cornwall, Ontario (lone occupant) of the eastbound vehicle was transported to hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries.
Names are being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
A section of County Road 43(between MacMillan Road/County Road 14 ) was closed to traffic, but has since been re-opened.
SD&G OPP, assisted by OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI) continue to investigate.
