CORNWALL, Ontario – A former Cornwall mayor and high-profile Liberal MP has been named to the Order of Canada.
Ed Lumley, a Cornwall mayor in the 1970s and a Liberal cabinet minister in the Pierre Trudeau government, was named to the Order on Canada Day.
Lumley joins other locals like Jake Lamoureux and Sultan Jessa who have also been named to the Order.
Lumley now lives in Lancaster, and is the current chancellor of the University of Windsor. He’s originally from that city.

The Order of Canada is one of the country’s highest civilian honours, established in 1967 to recognize outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation.
