CORNWALL, Ontario – The City of Cornwall has announced that certain bus routes will be streamlined, which they imply will reduce bus wait times.
“You wanted buses to be on time. Cornwall Transit listened,” reads the City of Cornwall press release. “Cornwall Transit is pleased to announce upgrades to conventional bus routes, effective December 10.”
Affected routes include Cumberland, McConnell, Sunrise and Community service routes.
The Sunrise routes will no longer travel along Hamilton Cres., Lynn St., Jase St. and McMartin Ave.
The McConnell route will now avoid Twelfth St., Guy St. and Eleventh St. between Guy and McConnell Ave.
Cumberland route will steer clear of Thirteenth St., Henry, Alfred, Fourteenth, Lisieux and Fifteenth streets.
The Community Service route will not go into the Benson Centre or Cornwall Transit.
“These route revisions will help keep buses on time and alleviate passenger concerns regarding late buses during peak hours,” said Len Tapp, Transit Division Manager.
The City of Cornwall posted the following charts detailing removed bus stops and nearest ones that passengers can now go to.
Sunrise Route # 2
The revised route will travel from Holy Cross and Anthony to east on Holy Cross Blvd. to continue east and south on Leitch Dr. to west on Shearer Ave. to south on Anderson Dr. to east on 2nd St. and regular route.
