CORNWALL, Ontario – Cornwall Square’s new owners Group Quint have unveiled their vision for the future of the mall.
Group Quint released a concept photo (shown above) detailing a sleek new look for the old Sears section of the Cornwall Square.
Seaway News has already learned that Urban Planet will be moving into the upstairs portion of this section of the mall.
Group Quint owner Ian Quint told Seaway News that his company intended to attract more retail businesses to the mall.
“We’ve already had good feedback with our network of tenants,” said Quint. “We are anticipating filling up vacancies with tenants pretty quickly.”
One new retailer Quint hopes to attract to the Square is a grocery store.
These plans for the Sears section of the mall contradict those of the Square’s previous owners, Partners REIT. In March 2018, Partners REIT stated their intentiont to tear down Sears and build condos.
One new vacancy that will open up in that section of the mall is the auto shop. Active Green + Ross that occupies the autoshop will be closing by the end of January.
