Cornwall man arrested for multiple thefts

CORNWALL, Ontario – Steven Coleman, 35, of Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 29, 2018 and charged with the following:

  • Theft under $5,000 x four
  • Breach of probation x four (failing to keep the peace)
  • Breach of recognizance (failing to remain in residence)
  • Unlawful use of credit card

It is alleged on Oct. 8, 2018, the man took a purse belonging to someone unknown to him and used a credit card without the owner’s permission. Further, the man allegedly attended a Second St. business on Oct. 11, 2018 and removed a perfume bottle, making no attempt to pay for the item as he left the store. The man also allegedly attending a Pitt St. business on Oct. 27, 2018 and removed a quantity of money, as well as took a purse from a woman who was not known to him on Oct. 29, 2018. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On Oct. 29, 2018, police located the man. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
