LANCASTER, Ontario – The Raisin Region Conservation Authority (RRCA) bid farewell to summer by hosting a community celebration on Saturday, Aug. 25 at Charlottenburg Park.
The fifth annual beach barbeque and corn roast featured live entertainment from the Blue Grass Jammers, a small motorcycle and car show, bouncy castle, soccer darts, water tube rides and guided canoe tours.
Hundreds of people flooded the beach and park, partaking in the events provided.
“We are celebrating the end of summer, and it’s sort of to thank all the campers that have been here all summer, and people who are using the beach,” said Richard Pilon, General Manager of RRCA.
“It helps to bring in the public to see the beautiful facility that we have here,” added Josianne Sabourin, RRCA Administrative Assistant. “Charlottenburg Park, in my opinion, is one of the most beautiful beaches around. So it’s nice to attract people here so that they can see what we offer.”
Royal RV Centre was the main event sponsor, and corn was provided from Avonmore Berry Farm.
