LONG SAULT, Ontario – The McGillivray family hosted their 1th annual pig roast for charity on Saturday, July 28.

What started as a family event turned into a community fundraiser when the McGillivrays decided they wanted to give back to local organizations.

“We do it for charity, and to get people out, to meet people, to relax and enjoy,” said Ken McGillivray.

This year, the family will be giving donations to Hospice Cornwall and Fragile X Research Foundation of Canada, as the McGillivrays are friends of a local family with two autistic children.

“All our music is donated today,” said Ken McGillivray, who was thankful for all of the entertainment. “We have a Scottish pipe band coming too.”

McGillivray believes that pig roasts are different and unique. He said he has friends and family come from across Canada to attend the event.
