CORNWALL, Ontario – This Thanksgiving weekend, Séguin Patate is giving back by supporting Cornwall’s Agapè Centre.
On Saturday, Oct. 12, Séguin Patate will be donating all sales to the Agapè Centre. In addition to being the Saturday of the Thanskgiving weekend, Oct. 12 is the last day of the season for Séguin Patate, and the Cornwall staple wanted to use that occasion to support an important service in the community.
“My wife and I want to be involved in the community as much as possible,” said Jason Shoot, owner of Séguin Patate. “We feel as business owners it is our responsibility to be involved in the community.”
Séguin Patate’s staff will be volunteering their time throughout the day to help support the fundraiser.
Shoot said he wanted to thank his staff for gifting their time and Cardinal Wholesale Meats and Mike Samson of Betty Bread for their support of the fundraiser.
“This is a great cause, the Agapè Centre is the biggest food bank in the community,” Shoot said.
The Agapè Centre serves roughly 150 people a day in their soup kitchen and around 1,700 people a month through their food bank.
