Cornwall, ON – A 31-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 17th, 2021 and charged with the following:
· Domestic assault
· Break and enter
· Disobeying court order
· Breach of probation x 9 (for contacting his ex-girlfriend, being within a certain distance of her, possessing weapons and failing to keep the peace)
It is alleged on June 17th, the man forced his way into his ex-girlfriend’s residence and assaulted the woman. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 37-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 17th, 2021 and charged with domestic assault. It is alleged during an altercation with his girlfriend, the man assaulted her and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 14th, 2021. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Raymond Ward, 41, of Cornwall was arrested on June 17th, 2021 and charged with two counts of theft under $5000 and breach of undertaking for attending a certain business. He was also charged with breach of probation for possessing alcohol and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on May 26th and June 16th, the man attended a Second Street business and removed a quantity of alcohol, making no attempt to pay for the merchandise as he left the store. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On June 17th, 2021, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
FAIL TO ATTEND COURT
Cornwall, ON – Richard Bellefeuille, 47, of Cornwall was arrested on June 17th, 2021 and charged with failing to attend court. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on June 15th, 2021 for a mischief offence and an investigation ensued. On June 17th, he attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 7th, 2021.
SEXUAL ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – Sean Coughlan, 45, of Cornwall was arrested on June 17th, 2021 and charged with sexual assault. It is alleged on May 30th, the man sexually assaulted a woman known to him and police were contacted to investigate. On June 17th, 2021, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on September 7th, 2021.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Christianne Tessier, 39, of Ottawa was arrested on June 17th, 2021 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on April 20th, 2021, the woman entered two Brookdale Avenue residences without permission and removed property. In one of the residences, the woman assaulted a victim with a bottle before fleeing with the property. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On June 17th, 2021, the woman had been taken into custody by the Ottawa Police Service on the strength of Cornwall’s warrant. The warrant was executed and the woman was transported to Cornwall to await a bail hearing.
BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 13-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on June 18th, 2021 and charged with breach of undertaking for failing to abide by house rules. It is alleged on June 17th, the youth left his residence and failed to return during the hours of his curfew. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the early morning hours on June 18th, police located the youth and took him into custody. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
