On December 10, 2022, the Agapè Centre in cooperation with Yafa Arts and Crafts is hosting a free Make Your Own Christmas Card Workshop. The workshop will be held at the Agapè Centre Community Kitchen in two sessions, from 1:30 to 2:30pm and from 3 to 4pm. Everyone is welcome!
“I have been talking with Lisa [Agapè’s Executive Director] and the intention is to make it food for your body, art for your soul. So, it’s important for people to come together to eat, but also to create something, hear a story, tell how they feel, what is happening through the day,” explained Yafa Goawily.
The event is an open invitation for the community to come together in a place that is known for welcoming everyone. We all know the great work that the Agapè Centre does to support our community but its not only about food, it’s also about creating a sense of community and supporting people when they need it most. In addition to a craft workshop, it gives people a chance to see what the Agape Centre Community Kitchen is like without stigma.
“It’s a community and family place. You can come with your family and the kids; you can come with your friends. Come for a free coffee and free art workshop. Its Christmas, we need to create more kindness and connection together,” said Goawily, “I think donations would be amazing for the Agape Centre. Giving is amazing also by supporting the New for You thrift store but being there just to connect is the most amazing gift.”
To register for the event, email admin@agapecentre.ca or call 613-938-9297 ext. 115 by December 7th at 4pm.
