Cornwall, ON – As a result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking by the Cornwall Police Service and Ontario Provincial Police joint-force Street Level Enforcement Team, three individuals have been taken into custody through Project Antagonist.
On March 18th, 2022, members of the Street Level Enforcement Team executed three Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrants at two Vincent Massey Drive residences and a Pitt Street residence. During a search of the residences, police located a quantity of cocaine, fentanyl, MDMA, Xanax, LSD, Hydromorphone, illicit cannabis and Canadian currency. In addition, police located brass knuckles and two pellet guns. The total estimated value of the seized drugs and currency is $32,760.00.
During the investigation, the following individuals were taken into custody and charged accordingly:
Marcus Vezina, 31, of Cornwall:
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – MDMA
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Hydromorphone
· Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking – LSD
· Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking – Alprazolam (Xanax)
· Possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling
· Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x 3
· Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
· Breach of prohibition order x 3
Sydney Oakes, 29, of Cornwall:
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – MDMA
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Hydromorphone
· Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking – LSD
· Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking – Alprazolam
· Possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling
· Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x 3
· Breach of probation order (for failing to keep the peace)
Brandon Lapierre, 30, of Cornwall:
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
· Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
Marcus Vezina and Sydney Oakes were both held in custody to await a bail hearing. Brandon Lapierre was released to appear in court on May 26th, 2022.
