REFUSAL
Cornwall, ON – Male, 22, of Cornwall, was arrested on October 20th, 2023, and charged with refusing to provide a breath sample. It is alleged that on October 20th, 2023, the man refused to provide a suitable sample of his breath when directed by an officer. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on December 5th, 2023.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT, CHOKING, ASSAULT, OBSTRUCTION
Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old man of Cornwall was arrested on October 22nd, 2023, and charged with three counts of assault, one count of assault causing bodily harm, and one count of obstruction. It is alleged that on October 22nd, 2023, the man assaulted and choked his girlfriend, and assaulted another individual known to him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. While being taken into custody, the man resisted. He was charged accordingly, and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released to protect the identity of the victims.
FAIL TO COMPLY
Cornwall, ON – Male, 25, of Long Sault, was arrested on October 23rd, 2023, and charged with failing to comply with probation and two counts of failing to comply with a prohibition order. It is alleged that between September 1st and October 21nd, 2023, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior. It is also alleged that between these dates, he was bound by a prohibition order with the relevant conditions to not attend a public park or swimming area where any person under the age of 16 may be present, and to not have contact with any person under the age of 16 without supervision. It is alleged that between these dates, the man was in the presence of someone under the age of 16 without any supervision, and also attended a park with someone under the age of 16. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 23rd, 2023, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on December 5th, 2023.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – A 24-year-old man of Cornwall was arrested on October 23rd, 2023, on the strength of an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that On October 17th, 2023, the man was bound by a probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior. It is also alleged that on this date, the man was bound by a separate probation order with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior, not to communicate with his ex-girlfriend, and not to communicate with specific individuals. On this date, it is alleged that the man unlawfully entered his ex-girlfriend’s residence, where she and the specific individuals he was prohibited from contacting were present, assaulted and choked her, and then threatened to harm her and her pet. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. A warrant was issued for his arrest. On October 23rd, 2023, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter and the warrant was executed. He was held for a bail hearing. His name was not released to protect the identities of the victims in this matter.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – Male, 55, of Cornwall, was arrested on October 23rd, 2023, and charged with one count of shoplifting. It is alleged that on September 3rd, 2023, the man attended a Ninth Street business, selected merchandise, and left the store without attempting to pay for it. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On October 23rd, 2023, the man attended police headquarters to address the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on November 30th, 2023.
SHOPLIFTING
Cornwall, ON – Female, 30, of no fixed address, was arrested on October 23rd, 2023, and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged that on October 23rd, 2023, the woman attended a Ninth Street business, selected merchandise, and left the store without attempting to pay for it. The woman was stopped by the store’s Loss Prevention Officer and police were contacted. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly, and released to appear in court on December 19th, 2023.
