POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE, CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON
Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on April 6th, 2023 and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon. On April 6th, 2023, police were contacted about the youth being in possession of a weapon. Police located the youth, at which time he is alleged to have been concealing a BB gun on his body. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Male, 37, of Cornwall was arrested on April 6th, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on March 11th, 2021 for a criminal harassment offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On April 6th, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
TRANSPORTATION FRAUD, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Female, 73, of Cornwall was arrested on April 7th, 2023 and charged with transportation fraud, as well as breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on April 4th, 2023, the woman was transported to a location via a taxi and subsequently refused to provide payment, despite numerous requests from the victim. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 7th, 2023, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 9th, 2023.
MAN CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE COUNTS OF UTTERING THREATS AND CRIMINAL HARASSMENT
Cornwall, ON – Male, 62, of Summerstown, ON was arrested on April 7th, 2023 and charged with nine counts of uttering threats to cause death, one count of uttering threats to damage to property, as well as criminal harassment. It is alleged on April 4th, 2023, the man repeatedly contacted someone known to him, and made threats to kill the victim, their family, and to burn their property. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 7th, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 9th, 2023.
MAN ARRESTED AFTER ONGOING BREAK AND ENTER INVESTIGATION
Cornwall, ON – Male, 27, of Vars, ON was arrested on April 7th, 2023 and charged with the following:
- Break and enter
- Possession of break-in instruments
- Conspiracy to commit indictable offence
- Mischief under $5000
- Possession of property obtained by crime
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a Schedule I substance (methamphetamine)
- Breach of prohibition order
- Breach of release order (for possessing a weapon)
It is alleged during the early morning hours on March 20th, 2023, the man entered the property of an Eleventh Street business, causing damage to a fence, and further attempted to remove merchandise before fleeing. Police attended and located the suspect’s vehicle, locating a quantity of break-in instruments, a BB gun, as well as a quantity of methamphetamine. On April 7th, 2023, the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT, MISCHIEF, THREATS, INTIMIDATION
Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 7th, 2023 and charged with domestic assault, mischief, uttering threats and intimidation. It is alleged during an altercation with his common-law wife, the man assaulted her, damaged walls in the residence and made threats to harm her. It is further alleged he intimidated the woman with threats of violence in order to have her comply with him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 7th, 2023, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
WARRANT, DOMESTIC ASSAULT, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 38-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 8th, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. He was also charged with domestic assault, as well as breach of release order for contacting his girlfriend and being within a certain distance of her. It is alleged on December 20th, 2022, the man failed to attend court for a previous fail to attend court offence and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On April 8th, 2023, police responded to a domestic dispute and located the man in the company of his girlfriend, after having allegedly assaulted the woman. The man was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
CRIMINAL HARASSMENT
Cornwall, ON – A 48-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 8th, 2023 and charged with three counts of criminal harassment. It is alleged the man had repeatedly contacted and attended his daughter’s residence, as well as repeatedly attended his ex-common-law wife’s residence. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, he was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victims in the matter.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Male, 22, of Casselman, ON was arrested on April 8th, 2023 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged on September 18th, 2022, the man had attended the City of Cornwall, despite having conditions to not attend. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On April 8th, 2023, the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on May 18th, 2023.
DOMESTIC MISCHIEF, ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on April 9th, 2023 and charged with domestic assault and mischief. It is alleged on April 9th, 2023, during an altercation with her boyfriend, the woman assaulted him and damaged a window. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
FAIL TO ATTEND FOR FINGERPRINTS
Cornwall, ON – Female, 19, of Cornwall was arrested on April 9th, 2023 and charged with failing to attend for fingerprints. It is alleged on March 22nd, 2023, the woman failed to attend police headquarters for fingerprints and an investigation ensued. On April 9th, 2023, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 18th, 2023.
OPERATION WHILE IMPAIRED
Cornwall, ON – Female, 29, of Cornwall was arrested on April 9th, 2023 and charged with operation while impaired. It is alleged on April 9th, the woman was operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drug when she struck hydro pole in the area of St. Felix Street. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During the investigation, she was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on May 9th, 2023.
THEFT OF CREDIT CARD, FRAUD UNDER $5000, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on April 10th, 2023 and charged with the following:
- Theft of credit card
- Fraud under $5000
- Breach of release order x 2 (for failing to abide by his curfew)
- Breach of probation order x 2 (for failing to keep the peace)
It is alleged on April 9th, 2023, the youth took a credit card from someone known to him without permission and made various purchases. It is further alleged on both April 8th and April 9th, the youth failed to abide by his curfew, despite his conditions. On April 10th, 2023, the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
