Cornwall will be playing host to the 76th annual Catholic Women’s League Provincial Convention from July 8th to 12th at the Cornwall Civic Complex.

Over 200 delegates from across Ontario will attend the five-day event, which is being organized by the former Alexandria-Cornwall Diocesan Catholic Women’s League. As with the Diocese, the local CWL also recently amalgamated with the Ottawa Archdiocese so the conference will serve as one final celebration for the former Alexandria-Cornwall CWL group.

“We are pleased to be able to host this at the end (of the transition),” said Jeannie Coleman, Chair of the 2023 Convention Planning Committee. “We are proud of our Diocese and we can’t wait to share our hospitality with all of our guests.”

The convention will be based out of the Cornwall Civic Complex and will feature business sessions, opening and closing Eucharistic celebrations at St. Andrew’s Church and St. Peter’s Church, a mini tattoo, excursions throughout Cornwall and SDG Counties and more.

“The Convention Planning Committee have been working tirelessly to provide delegates with a memorable convention experience in Cornwall,” said Linda Squarzolo, President of the Catholic Women’s League of Canada Ontario Provincial Council.

The theme for the conference is ‘Go Make a Difference.’

“We’re excited to play host to the Catholic Women’s League Provincial Convention and welcome the delegates to our community,” said Kevin Lajoie, Tourism Officer with the City of Cornwall. “In addition to networking and carrying out their business, the delegates will also get to experience some of the great amenities that our region has to offer.”
