Cornwall Community Hospital (CCH) spread plenty of holiday cheer this month through their door decorating contest and holiday plush giveaways, putting smiles on the faces of patients, staff, and volunteers.
Door decorating was in full swing at CCH this year with over 30 doors/areas in the hospital decorated and 2,000 votes cast by staff and physicians to select winners. The wonderful decorations brought lots of joy to CCH this holiday season.
Charlee, the hospital’s therapy dog, surprised paediatric patients with stuffed animals in time for Christmas. For several weeks, customers at PetSmart could purchase a PetSmart holiday plush toy and donate it back to the store to be distributed by Charlee at Cornwall Hospital.
A donation of over 300 holiday plush toys was received by the hospital to be distributed to any patient who needs a smile during the holiday season and beyond.
“As our Women and Children’s Health Department is seeing especially more children being admitted with respiratory illness this virus season, these holiday plush toys being distributed by Charlee at CCH will go a long way in helping to provide comfort and putting a smile on a child’s face when they need it most,” CCH shared on their Facebook page.
