CORNWALL, Ontario – National Nursing Week runs from May 10th until May 16th, and the Cornwall Community Hospital (CCH) extends its sincerest thanks and gratitude to the more than 500 nurses employed at CCH, and also at other healthcare facilities throughout the region.
“On behalf of CCH, I would like to thank our nurses for their selfless dedication and commitment to helping others and saving lives, every day” said Jeanette Despatie, President and CEO
of CCH.
“This past year has been particularly difficult for nurses on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic, working more hours, adapting to Hospital changes, caring for critically ill patients, and fearing infection or potentially infecting loved ones. Regardless of this, the nurses at CCH always answered the call without question and delivered exceptional care in our community,” added Despatie.
CCH released a video online today featuring various senior staff and physicians thanking their nurses and frontline healthcare workers. The video can be viewed on the CCH YouTube Channel here.
A social media campaign is also running all week on the CCH Facebook Page, highlighting various nurses and departments. Residents are encouraged to follow CCH on Facebook to follow the campaign and stay up to date on CCH services.
This week at CCH nurses and staff are also being treated to lunches, treats, and even tree seedlings from the South Nation Conservation Authority to plant at home and serve as a sign of hope for the future.
“Take a moment this week and thank a frontline worker in your life, and if appropriate, wish them a Happy Nursing Week, and let them know that you’re there for them. After all, they would be there for you, especially if you’re life depended on it,” said Despatie.
