Cornwall, Ontario – The Social Development Council of Cornwall and Area and The Cornwall and Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the inaugural Youth Engagement Fair on April 10th at the Cornwall Civic Complex. Aimed at empowering young lives, the event featured 63 exhibitors, including sports clubs, art programs, mental health resources, and volunteer opportunities.
Carilyne Hébert, Executive Director at The Social Development Council, expressed her enthusiasm near the start of the event, “We’re thrilled with the success thus far. We have over 60 vendors and about 150 youth have already come in, which is exceeding our expectations. We hope this can connect youth with valuable experiences and programs to support their well-being.”
Attendees had the chance to win prizes, including a Custom Gaming PC, sponsored by the Eastern Ontario Training Board. Funded by the City of Cornwall’s Building Safer Communities Fund, the event aimed to foster physical well-being, community involvement, and a sense of belonging among youth.
