William Arthur “Bill” Wereley
Peacefully at the Cornwall Community Hospital on Monday, January 7, 2019. Beloved husband for 63 years of the late Phyllis Wereley (nee Nugent )(2015). Loving father of Barry (Gale), Steven (Linda), Kevin (Tammy), Mark (Sue), and daughter in laws Judy Wereley and Lucie Wereley. Cherished grandfather of 8 grandchildren; Christopher, Derek, Brad, Mallory, Neal, Sean, Ryan, Britney, and by 8 great-grandchildren. He is survived by one brother Thomas ‘Tom’ Wereley. Predeceased by one brother Borden Johnson. Bill was a long time employee of Ontario Hydro, owner of Wereley’s Esso in South Lancaster and in later years a real estate agent with Sauvé’s Real Estate. Bill was a life member of Lancaster Masonic Lodge Lancaster, Lancaster Curling Club, hockey and softball coach. He will be fondly remembered by his quick wit and ability to retain and tell jokes. The family would like to thank the staff at Chateau Cornwall for the amazing care and friendship Bill received as a long time resident. Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 46 Oak St. Lancaster (613-347-3629). A Masonic Memorial Service will held at the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, South Lancaster on Saturday January 12, 2019 at 8:45 am. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 am in the Church. A Funeral Memorial Service will follow at 11 am in the Church. Spring interment of cremated remains in the Parish cemetery. As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Bill a tree will be planted in a memory woods.
