Verna Conroy
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many, passed away on April 3rd, 2024, at the age of 97 in Winchester, Ontario. Verna’s life was one of love and compassion that touched the hearts of all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving children: Janice Miller (Brian), Cathy Dusomos (Gerry), Cindy Walsh (Tom), Julie Klazinga (Seba), Kevin Conroy (Diana), and Kelly Conroy (Tammy). Verna was preceded in death by her husband Jack ‘Gumpy’ Conroy, son John Conroy, and daughter Colleen McLellan (Paul). She leaves behind a legacy of love through her twenty grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Verna forged lifelong friendships that endured the tests of time and distance. In the embrace of her neighbours in Riverdale and in the company of friends from Harrison’s Corners and Summerstown, her memory will live on, a testament to the power of friendship and community. A funeral service will be held at Christ Church in Long Sault at 3 pm on May 11th with visitation prior from 11 am -2 pm. In honour of Verna’s memory donations may be made to Winchester District Memorial Hospital in place of sending flowers. Verna has left an enduring mark upon this world—one filled with love, compassion, wisdom, and unwavering strength. Rest peacefully dear soul, you have earned it.
