Pierre (Peter) Wilfrid Marchand
Pierre (Peter) Wilfrid Marchand, 67, of Edmonton, Alberta, died on Friday, May 31st, 2024 at hospital of an aortic aneurysm. His family includes his wife of 38 years, Lisa and two adult children, Christopher and Caitlin.
He was predeceased by both his parents, Patrick and Huguette (Sauriol) Marchand.
Pierre was born on June 21st, 1956 in Cornwall and was one of six children.
During his high-school years, he was lead guitarist and singer and entertained many in the vicinity with his rock band.
He moved to Calgary in 1981 and relocated to Edmonton permanently in 1982 where he started his software company Canadata. In May 1986 he married Lisa and together they welcomed two children.
His surviving siblings are Suzanne (Bruce) Charnley, Louise Marchand, Jeannine (David Grant) Marchand, Patricia (Stephen) McIntyre and Paul (d. 2015 Kimberley Coir) Marchand.
A private burial ceremony will be held in Cornwall at Notre Dame Cemetery, South Branch Road, on September 5, 2024 at 1 pm.
Friends and relatives are welcome to attend.
