At the Cornwall Community Hospital on Friday, February 8, 2019. Peter Joseph Poirier of Monkland, ON; age 70 years. Beloved husband of Deborah “Debi” (née Faubert) Poirier. Loving father of Kim Poirier-Froats (Danny). Cherished grandfather of Danielle and Rebecca “Becca”. Dear brother of Norman Poirier and Mary Brown (late Frances). Brother-in-law of Ann Poirier (Hubert) and Nancy Tyo (Kenny). Predeceased by his parents David and Effie (née Raymond) Poirier. Also predeceased by his sister Bertha, and his brother-in-law Larry Faubert (Trish). He will be lovingly missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, family, friends and Special friendship of Brian and Nancy Derouchie and their family. Peter was a quiet unassuming, kind, humble man, he had a great passion for Dirt Racing, Ford Trucks and the Maple Leafs. The family will be in attendance at LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN, CORNWALL FUNERAL HOMES, EAST BRANCH, 614 First St. East (613-933-2841) from 4:30 p.m. until the time of Funeral on Friday. A Memorial Service will be held in the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Cornwall Branch of the O.S.P.C.A. would be greatly appreciated by the family.
