Nina Evelyn Crump (Duffey)
Mrs. Nina Crump of Cornwall, Ontario passed away peacefully in her 100th year on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Hospice Cornwall. Nina is survived and sadly missed by her daughter Donna (Greg) Labonte, sister Leila (Duffey) Papic, grandson Stefan (Julie) Crump, granddaughters Jana Labonte and Kelley Labonte, great grandsons Ethan Crump, Everett Crump, Zane Labonte-Hagar and Rylan Baker. Preceded in death by her parents Robert & Hessie Duffey, husband Charles Crump, son Robert ‘Bob’ Crump, and siblings Elsie Jackson, Mrytle Freeland, Don Duffey, Bessie Meeds and Laura Duffey. Nina loved her family and spending time together. She grew up in Caron, Saskatchewan and loved visiting the family farm every summer. Nina enjoyed years of travelling, golf, skiing, cards, painting in watercolor, playing the piano, gardening and spending time outdoors. Nina helped build and managed the Long Sault Motel and Heritage Motel. She loved to spend time on her son’s boat cruising the St. Lawrence River and enjoyed sitting by the fire at her daughter’s cabin at ‘the ditch’. Nina took notice of the sunrises and sunsets and would want us all to take the time to be with loved ones. The family will be in attendance at Lahaie and Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, West Branch, 20 Seventh St. West (613-932-8482) from 12 Noon until time of Service. The Service of Remembrance will be held on the day of her 100th birthday, Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 2 p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of the funeral home followed by the inurnment at St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery.
