Monsignor Kevin Joseph Maloney

Monsignor Kevin Joseph Maloney passed away after a short illness at the Ottawa General Hospital on Friday, September 20, 2024 with his family by his side.  Father Kevin is the beloved son of John and Gertrude Maloney (née Daniels).  He is survived by his sister Elaine McPhail (Alex) and sister-in-law Colombe Maloney.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Deborah Hauer (Christopher), Karen Hart (Alex), John Pilon (Madeleine), Kimberly Lalonde (Danny), Lyndon McPhail (Patricia) and Darryn McPhail (Annise).  Also survived by eight great nephews, three great nieces and ten great great nieces and nephews.  Also survived by three step sisters Barbara Poirier (late Roger), Martha Hollingsworth (Dwayne) and Linda Christlmeier (Franz).  Father Kevin is predeceased by his parents, his brothers Jim and Jack and his sister and brother-in-law Betty & Gabe Pilon, nephew Patrick Maloney, and step mother Grace Maloney.

Father Kevin was ordained to the priesthood on February 11, 1972 at St. Columban Catholic Church.  He served various parishes over the years in the Cornwall area.

Monsignor Kevin will be resting in state at St. Columban Catholic Church 36 Fourth Street West, Cornwall on Thursday September 26th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mass of Resurrection with Commendation and Farewell will be celebrated at St. Columban’s Church on Friday September 27, 2024 at 11 a.m. Interment in St. Andrew’s Parish Cemetery to follow.
