DUNNE, Michael – Mr. Michael Joseph Dunne passed away suddenly surrounded by his family on Friday March 22, 2019 at the age of 68 years. Mike is survived by his loving wife Florence of 44 years, daughters Shauna Baggs (Devin), Beth Larocque (Charles), son Scott (Carolyn), and youngest daughter Erin Thorne (Tyler). Proud grandparent of Cameron, Andrew, Emmett, Jean, Sam, Rose, Vivianna, Joseph, Benjamin, Keira, Mollie, and Wyatt. Survived by brother John (Alda), and sisters Ellen Maher (Willy), Charmaine Bursey (Billy), Scarlet Hann (Billy), and Marylou (Rick Heistinger). He was predeceased by his parents John and Elizabeth (née Cahill) Dunne, and twin brother Shaun. Mike is remembered for his long career as a teacher at St. Joseph’s Secondary School, retiring as a dean, and also taught for the University of Ottawa’s teacher’s program. Mike was a man of integrity. The patience, respect, and kindness he gave to his family spilled over into the many lives he touched. To know Mike was to know the feeling of acceptance and unconditional love. We are all blessed to say we were loved by him. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall, where visitation will be held Sunday March 24, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8PM. The Mass of the Resurrection with Commendation and Farewell will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church on Monday March 25, 2019 at 11:00AM. Cremation to follow. Interment in St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery to occur at a later date. If so desired, contributions in his memory to the Canadian Liver Foundation or the Diabetes Canada would be appreciated by the family.
