It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Marion Helen Blanchard (née Rock) on Friday, May 15, 2020 at the Janet McDonnell Pavilion. Beloved best friend of the late Norman Blanchard (2003). Loving mother of David, Joy Blanchard (Mike Hodgins) and Kim Major (Mike) all of South Glengarry. Loving and cherished grandmother of Emma (Mitch), Ozric, Charlie (Hailey), Taylor (Patrick), Robyn, Jaime, Abbey (Campbell). Predeceased by her grandson Billy Dennison and her parents John Rock and Michelina Pietzyk and siblings and their spouses: Raymond Rock (Theresa), Edward Rock (Jenny), Alex Rock (Stella), and Jessie Rock Desjardins.
Our Mom is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins and friends.
Our beloved Mom was best known for her love of red wine and her kindness to animals, she enjoyed working in her gardens as well as a good political conversation. She was always willing to help when needed and always remembered everyone’s birthdays and anniversaries.
Our Mom would love to have everyone look back on their own lives and be grateful for the small simple treasures in it, be so very thankful for the family and friends that are in your circle that surround you. This is her wish to pass onto others.
Her Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 46 Oak St., Lancaster, ON (613) 347-3629. A Celebration of Marion’s life will be held at a later date. As a Memorial to Marion a tree will be planted in a memory woods. A tree grows-memories live.
