V. Kathleen Colbran (nee Cain)
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother “Kay” at Cornwall Hospice, on Friday December 8, 2023. Kay was predeceased by her beloved husband Melvin (2013). Born in Cornwall in 1924, she married Mel in 1944 in St. Paul’s United Church. Loving mother of Carol Cummings (late Doug) and Dale Colbran (Lisa Mitchell). She is survived by four grandchildren Laura Pechie (Gord), Carla Mason (Troy), Madison Colbran (Scott Brandon) and Zachary Colbran. Kay was great-grandmother to Heather and Stacy Leishman, Devon and Dylan Mason. Kay was an avid bridge player, square dancer and loved to travel with Mel. She passed many milestones in her almost 100 years and outlived many friends and family. As per Kay’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or service. A Celebration of life will be held in the spring. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall, ON (613-938-3888). We would like to acknowledge the wonderful care our parents received for many years at the Chartwell McConnell Manor, as well as the special people at Carefor Hospice who gave mother such loving care in her final days. If you wish to give a donation in Kay’s memory, please consider Cornwall Carefor Hospice or a charity of your choice. On-Line condolences can be left at www.wilsonfuneralhome.ca
