FLECK, Karl – 1941 April 30- 2019 February 21 Peacefully with his family by his side in the comfort of his own home near Elora, Ontario. Born in Budafok, Hungary, Karl lived in Konstanz, Bodensee, Germany and arrived in Canada in 1958. He leaves his loving wife and best friend of almost 52 years, Kathleen (Mazi) Fleck. Much loved father of Anthony (Sophia Chaffey), Christina (Keary Tremaine) and Erika (Trevor Woodruff). Cherished Grandpa and Papa of Keira and Keith Fleck, Calvin and Cory Cressman, Cameron, Cody and Chase Tremaine, Alexis Dunning (and her friend Michael Dunk), Trista Stafford, Grace and Ella Woodruff. Dear brother of George Fleck (Hedwig Krinitzki) (2011). Dear brother-in-law of Joe Mazi (Barrdeen Dow) (2014) and Mary Mazi MacDermid (Siegi Speckner). Also remembered by many loving nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents, Gyorgy and Maria (Martz) Fleck, his brother Gyorgy (1929) and his sister Maria (1945). A professional Painter and Decorator, he retired from the Upper Grand District School Board after 24 years. Karl loved nature, fishing, kayaking, and swimming. He had a special place in his heart for all animals. In keeping with Karl’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass will be held at a later date followed by Rite of Committal at St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery, Williamstown, Ontario. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations to the St. Vincent de Paul – Cornwall, Food Bank, 434 Second Street West, Cornwall, ON K6J 1H1, would be appreciated by the family. The family wishes to thank Dr. Mark Benaroia, Dr. Donna Ward, Dr. Shvan Korsheed, Dr Chris Lund and his wonderful team for Home Palliative Care.
