Peacefully, surrounded by family, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer, at the Glengarry Memorial Hospital, on Friday, February 21, 2020. Juliana (Jels) Vanstokkom (nee Dikhoff) of Alexandria; age 91 years. Beloved wife of the late Tom Vanstokkom (2009). Dear mother of Annette Westgate (Alex) of London, Betty Smith (David) of Calgary, Alberta, Andy Vanstokkom (Sandra) of Ottawa and Caroline Filion (David) of Alexandria. Cherished “Oma” of Steven (Sasha), Staci (Chad), Lori (Greg), Teri, Amy, Gord, Brennen and Liam. Great-grandmother of Alyjanna, Everton, Autumn and Austin. Survived by her sister, Toni and brother, Frederik. Predeceased by her parents Frederik Dikhoff and Antonia Schoenmakers and siblings Johan, Nannie, Jules, Jopie, Hetty and Ans.
To the end of her days, Jels lived life with unbounded energy and appreciation for all those in her life.
Friends and relatives may call at the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613) 525-2772 on Thursday February 27, 2020 from 11 – 12 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life and luncheon. Spring interment of cremated remains in St. Finnan’s Parish Cemetery. For those who wish, Memorial Donations to the Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital, would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Jels, a tree will be planted in a memory woods. A tree grows – memories live.
