John Kroon

KROON, John – Mr. John M. Kroon peacefully on August 28, 2021 at the age of 90. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Elspeth, his daughter, Carol (Rick), his sons John (Kim), Tom, and Michael; his extended family Robert (Cathy), and Deborah, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Husband by a previous marriage to Ann Kroon. He is survived by his two sisters in Holland. Predeceased by his daughter, Judy (Mike), his parents, two brothers, and one sister. He retired from the St. Lawrence Seaway Authority as VP of Corporate Services. He was a long time Director on the Board of The Seaway International Bridge Corporation Ltd and the Board of Directors of the Thousand Island Bridge Authority. For many years he was Chair of Carefor Eastern Counties, as well as a member of the executive of Carefor Corporate Board in Ottawa. At the request of the deceased there will be no visitation. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the Carefor Cornwall Hospice.
